Bob Sunda has spent four decades touring, performing, and recording all over the world with a variety of renowned entertainers. Jazz, R&B, pop, rock, blues, classical — you name it, Bob has played it.
Bob Sunda is a rare combination of international recording artist, performing musician and motivated mentor. He trained at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy where he displayed a prodigious aptitude as a bassist and pianist. A move to New York gave him time to study and play with masters of the Jazz form. Touring in the Pacific Rim and starring with his own band gave Sunda a commercial/corporate edge. Recognized as an All-Star, he returned to New Orleans to perform and teach, then relocated to Memphis after Katrina. Rhodes College welcomed Sunda as an adjunct Professor of Jazz Bass. He brought his passionate desire to train and motivate music students at Rhodes while maintaining an extensive performance schedule. Sunda is also the music director at The Presbyterian Church in Nesbit, MS. Bob Sunda, a Jazz Cat with a heart for music education and the gift of mentorship.
